Expanded range of A3 inkjet All-in-One printers from Brother

Issue #0838/3 – With no other A3 inkjet AiOs yet on the market, Brother recently expanded its A3 range with two additional new models, following the launch of its first A3 format inkjet All-in-One printer in June of this year. These new models include an entry-level four-function model with A4 scan platen but providing A3 printing capability. Now that the original model has settled into the channel, we consider these new models alongside appropriate A4 business-oriented inkjet AiOs.

Issue #0838/1 – This week, in Wilsonville, Oregon, Xerox unveiled a brand new solid ink A3 colour MFP exclusively to industry analysts in advance of the annual investors’ conference on Monday. Not a concept product and not a mock-up, the device was demonstrated as a fully working and fully functional MFP with expanded paper feed and finishing options attached. Full launch will not be until sometime in 2009, before which no detailed specifications will be available.

Issue #0838/2 – Xerox has announced that it is taking delivery of six 25,000 gallon tanks at its toner manufacturing plant in Webster, New York, this week in preparation for going into full-scale manufacturing of its next generation EA (Emulsion Aggregate) toner – a toner that will fuse at much lower temperatures, reducing the power needed to heat the fuser unit.

Issue #0836/1 - Hewlett-Packard’s new 30ppm Colour LaserJet CP3525 enters the market creating a new price benchmark for the print speed. Hewlett-Packard claims, “black printing for the same cost as on an HP monochrome LaserJet” but, its high colour CPP can push its mixed-page Total Cost of Printing up towards the top of a competitive colour printer grouping. Now that the CP3525 is formally launched, we check out its specification, along with its Total Cost of Printing and check out the company’s cost of mono printing claim.
