Issue #0834/1 – Along with its new Stylus Office All-in-One printers "Serious wireless business inkjet All-in-One devices take up battle positions", Epson has launched a heavy duty inkjet printer for the office market. Competing with both Hewlett-Packard Officejet Pro inkjet printers and low-end colour laser printers, the Epson B-500DN business inkjet printer is a pricey colour printer to buy but knocks spots of every other colour printer device where long-term Total Cost of Printing is concerned.

Issue #0833/2 – Following the arrival of Hewlett-Packard’s 5-ink printing system in July, with the launch of the Photosmart D5360 printer, the first of the Photosmart All-in-One 5-ink devices are now launched. Two models, Photosmart C5380 and C6380, offer fast and reasonably economical printing of both office documents and photos. But, they are joined by hard-hitting devices from Epson in particular and still face stiff competition by other new and existing machines. Issue #0832/2 – Extending its ‘responsibility’ program, Xerox has launched what it describes as “a comprehensive program of papers, resources and Web tools to help customers identify the right paper, the right supplies and the right way to print with the environment in mind”. This follows the launch of the company’s first FSC and PEFC certified papers during the latter part of 2007 (article - "Xerox paper products obtain FSC and PEFC certification").
